driving lessons & practical training
Triple A Driving School aims to make your driving lessons a rewarding and satisfying experience. Although learning to drive is a serious undertaking, we make it as much fun as possible.
Our patient driving instructors have been hand picked and trained to include defensive driving techniques along with the quality tuition you should expect for a lifetime of safe driving. Our aim is to establish safe driving habits for you that will remain with you for the rest of your life.
driving lessons
Our driving lessons are 1 hour long and include free pick up and drop off (door to door) in Wellington, Porirua, Lower Hutt, Wainuiomata and Upper Hutt. We offer manual and automatic lessons and all of our instructor vehicles are dual controlled.
Your driving lessons will be structured in a logical progression so that each one builds on the skills taught and learned in the previous lesson. Your instructor will expose you to as many experiences in varied conditions as possible.
We recommend booking your lessons closer together (aim for 2 - 3 lessons per week) to keep up the momentum.

pre-test trainingIf you need to tidy up your driving or find out if you're ready to sit your restricted or full licence test, book a pre-test training session with a qualified instructor from Triple A Driving School.
These sessions act as a mock-test, putting you under pressure to see how you perform in a test situation. Your instructor will give you tips and techniques to help you with your pre-test nerves, and prepare you for the testing process. |
overseas licence holdersIf you have an overseas drivers licence you may be required to sit a practical test to convert your foreign licence to a New Zealand one. Our qualified instructors can assist you in preparing for the practical test.
During the 1 hour sessions the instructor will assess your driving and give you verbal feedback on areas to improve on before your test. The best way to build your confidence and skill is through practice. We recommend that anyone new to New Zealand should purchase or borrow a current New Zealand Road Code to familiarise themselves with the different rules and conditions they will face while driving in New Zealand. |
